I haven't blogged much the past week or so just been busy :) Loving working at the hotel in the Bar. I meet so many interesting people (customers) every shift and learn more about the UK each day. There is an average of 4-5 tables per shift that have bets running as to where my accent comes from... Oh dear. I take their drinks order, then when I return with drinks I am asked the famous question: "Where are you from??". I tell them and the table is then filled with "YES"s or sighs, depending on their bet. Hilarious! Some customers then go on to tell me about places in the UK I just have to visit on my day off. As exhausting as it is, I love it. I'm not the newest newbie amoungst staff anymore either, which is great! It's always hard being the new girl. Not been doing alot of travelling this week. My arm where I got my tattoo hurt really badly for 3 days after the big day, so shifting a gear stick wasn't going to happen. My arm itself no longer hurts, just the tattoo.. but its healing just as it should. Just kinda annoying having it 'heal' where you bend your wrist. Self inflicted though, and I welcome the pain because I'll love the outcome.
So, today I slept in til 2:30pm (oops). Really needed it. About 5pm I decided I should probably do SOMETHING so I don't feel as though I have wasted my day off. I remember reading about Thomas Gray and how his famous poem 'Elegy in a Country Churchyard' was written in the grounds of St Giles Church, Stoke Poges. Well Stoke Poges is just a short trip from me so thought I would try and find it. The church itself i beautiful, and the churchyard was different to what I had seen in the past. Just outside the churchyard is access to an open field, which is now a memorial to Thomas Gray. Gray is also buried at St Giles'. There is a monument with verses of the Elegy inscribed in the field. It was just so peaceful there. Will go back another day when its not so cold & getting dark :) There are apparently Heritage walks around there aswell.
Will put more photos on Flickr.
That was todays mini adventure.

it's good to know you're settling in so well in London. I'd imagine that working in the bar would be a fun experience, you do get to meet a ton of people.
