How tragic is that? At 21 years old, I just experienced my very first Halloween :) We don't do anything for Halloween back home in Australia, so this was my first. Most houses in our street decorated to some degree. Across to road had a big army tent out and they decorated it inside and out to be a dungeon. The owners dressed up as these creepy dudes (one a vampire nurse and the other like the creepy dude from the Adams Family) and freightened the living crap out of everyone, as they looked like statues until they moved. I had the joy of standing at the kitchen window laughing my head off. Hilarious! I dressed up as a witch as we were going to the families club down the road for a few drinks. Was quite funny as the kids went to scream Trick or Treat at me, but I scared THEM first. I am so evil, aren't I?
Baby Joshua was not keen at all. He cried everytime I answered the door. Poor little fella is only 7 months old and doesn't know whats going on.
Went to the pub for a few drinks and then brought Joshua home and left his parents down there. I had a headache so a night in with the X-Factor was more my style.
Other then that there is not a whole lot to report.
Oh, I do lie.
"Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..."
Otherwise known here as Bonfire night. I had never heard of this day until I became friends with someone from the UK. Basically from what I understand they now use this as a night to light bonfires and set off fireworks. The R.A.F base held a bonfire night and let off some fireworks last night. We head up there, me in my 4 coats (the joys of being an Aussie in England!) and Joshua wrapped up in a snowsuit. He looked adorable!
The fireworks were really good and went for a while, can't complain, it was free!
Tomorrow I am off to Bournemouth for the weekend. Hopefully see more fireworks on the weekend? This will be the highlight of my very long week.
I have come to the conclusion I hate being sick. Everyones does, I know, but I really really hate it. I am going out of my mind. I could deal with it until I woke up this morning without a voice!! I haven't spoken all day and have a slight, quiet voice now. Now I just sound like a teenage boy with a breaking voice. Lovely!!
I am still pinching myself everyday. I can't believe I have been in England for almost 8 months now. Many doubted I would last this long and it feels so good to prove them all wrong. 2 years ago I wasn't ready for anything like this, but now I am. I feel so much more confident, I believe in myself alot more now, I stand up for what I believe in and I am willing to try new things. I try to visit at least one new place per week, or do something new each day. It sounds a little silly but I feel more of a 'whole' person right now. I am so content with the world.
Anyway, I should wrap it up. It's bad when I come down ill, I ramble!
Next blog hopefully I will be able to report that my new baby cousin is born! He/She is due in about 11 days and I am slightly excited!!
