June update

THE NEW PET - RAINBOW THE CHAMELEON - 13.06.09

Please welcome to the family, baby Rainbow, who arrived in the post on Friday morning. The whole concept of ordering a reptile online and then having to sign for the parcel blows me away. He is a strange looking little thing but soo facinating to watch. I spent hours on Friday watching him! I would pick him up and he would turn green, then when I put him back in his home on a log, he automatically turns brown. It is pretty darn cool to watch. Rainbow was J's 11th birthday present! J woke up at his Dad's place on his birthday (saturday) but came home about 5pm. What a blast of an evening we had. I made a sign with 4 photos. A hippo, a birdy and two ewes. Hippy Birdy 2 U!! We tied the poster to the front gate, so J had to get out of the car and look at it before the gates would open. His face was priceless. Inside we did the open presents, took a million photos (some of which I had to be in... Ugh, I HATE being in front of the camera!), had a yummy cake, watched J tried to kill himself on his new skateboard (I've banned its use when he is under my supervision, I'm evil) and even watch J set off some fire works at the end of the night after fish and chips for dinner. The night was all a bit over the place but ALOT of fun. I haven't enjoyed myself that much in a really long time.

Also, I have a new car. Long story short I should be able to drive it soon. Its a weird car. The makers have taken some different car and rebuilt it into a mini Jag!! It's black with red leather seats, a/c, cd player, electric windows etc. It also has the grill thing at the front and the little Jaguar statue on the bonnet... its pretty darn cool if I may say so. Just trying to get insurance for it. Task and a half since I still haven't got my UK drivers licence 'cos I'm lazy and quite like my Aussie licence more! This car is a huge improvement compared to the 1991 Nissan Micra thats about to blow up on me. Whats with the dash telling me the engines temperature is almost at the Boiling Hot stage anyway???

Ummm, what else is new? I am going to the Harry Potter preview in London in a couple of weeks. The premiere is in Leicster Square and theres previews around London at the same time? The tickets wern't cheap but when my boss asked if I wanted to go, I wasn't going to say no. We are apparently getting all dressed up. I am being told to buy a nice dress and all. I don't do the getting dressed up all fancy thing so this is going to be entertaining for all involved. It should be interesting to see the movie though. Not that I've seen a Harry Potter film since the fourth one.

My next trip: PARIS!! In 3 sleeps. I am very excited. I was sitting online a couple of weeks ago & someone from SGP chat asked me on Skype if I was still interested in visiting Paris. I thought what the hell and said yes. So after a whole 48 hours planning, I booked my Eurostar train tickets and this weekend Audrey, Marion & I are taking over Paris for the weekend! Had some passport dramas but they were resolved today. I'm the idiot who sent my passport away with my drivers licence to exchange it for a UK licence and then booked an overseas trip forgetting I was passport less... its an Elise thing to do. Anyway, we have a full weekend planned by the sound of it and I am really looking forward to it. After Brussels, I've been really really wary of being anywhere in public alone, so its gonna be nice to be able to experience Paris with two other people. I am sure there will be many photos taken during our mini-SGP meetup weekend :).

Speaking of Brussels, people keep asking me what happened... let me just clear up I'm fine so no need to worry. Thank you for all the middle of the night texts and emails though, means alot :)

Also need to book our trip to Jersey/Guernsey. My friend J and I are going in the middle of July for a few days. We really need to get onto booking that Jenny Lol. I also booked my week long trip to Cyprus! 6 days of sun, beaches, eating, relaxing by the pool... bring on September! So lots coming up to look forward too.

I know this post is all over the place, but so is my head at the moment. My boss has decided to change my job description from Au Pair to P.A/Personal Assistant. My duties have been upped by about fifty billion percent and I'm exhausted. Its all fun though. I have decided to stay here with this family for the full 2 years, which they were very pleased to hear. L (13) told her Mum that I am the best Aupair they have ever had (they've had many over the past 10yrs). My boss keeps complimenting me on what a great job I am doing aswell which makes me feel good, like I'm doing something right.
I am feeling very fortuante and very blessed at the moment. As a thank you, my boss paid for me to get my hair done. I am now blonder then ever. A full head of blonde foils, scary! I also got my hair cut. How bloody lucky am I??

I need to book some gigs to go to. I am having major music withdrawals. BAck home I'd go no longer then 2-3 weeks without going to a gig, here I've been to 1 in three months! I would love to go and see U2. They have just announced a new date for London. If I didn't have to save some money for Paris I'd book a ticket right now. I'm also thinking of going to London to see the Arena spectacular Dinosaurs Live. Check it out: www.dinosaurlive.com/ . I think it looks pretty damn cool. The amount of work and preperation that would go into a production like that blows me away. Soooo spectacular!

Better go back to my TV night. I have been watching House, Grey's Anatomy & Ghost Whisperer all day. I was sooo cranky at Ghost Whisperer, its just not FAIR!! Jim!! Anyhow, just discovered 'Medium' is on the Sci Fi channel. Haven't seen this show in months.

Will blog in a few days after I take some photos of the funky car :) Its getting a major clean tomorrow apparently!

Elise ~ who has been in England for 3 months today!

Having trouble turning off: James Morrison, Lily Allen, Daniel Merriweather, Kate Voegele. And man, hasn't Nelly Furtado changed alot over the years!
